The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs wrapped up a playoff spot on the road in impressive fashion Friday night as they pounded the Centerville Tigers 40-7.
The win clinches at least a second-place finish for Corrigan-Camden, which will take on Trinity on Friday before opening the playoffs the following week.
Playing on a soggy field, the Bulldogs went to a stable of running backs to dominate the overmatched Tigers.
"It was a muddy field and we played most of the game between the hashes," Corrigan-Camden head coach Seven Armstrong said. "Our offensive line did a great job of blocking tonight. They really were the key to our offense."
Armstrong also credited Daryl Hulett for his strong running from his fullback position.
Corrigan-Camden's defense allowed just one first down in the first half and did not allow Centerville's touchdown until the final minutes after the starters had been taken out of the game.
"Our defense played a great game," Armstrong said. "They never really got anything going."
Corrigan-Camden (7-2, 3-1) will wrap up the regular season on Friday night as it hosts Trinity. Centerville (2-7, 1-3) will play at Groveton Friday.
