Runners hosting Halloween camp, bash

AC News Service

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Considering all the fresh faces on the Angelina College men's basketball roster, head coach Todd Neighbors thought it would be a good idea for the community to meet his new guys.

The Roadrunners will scrimmage Barksdale Air Force Base at Shands Gymnasium tonight, but Saturday's events offer even more of a chance for area fans to meet the 'Runners.

On that day, AC coaches and players will host a free basketball camp for youngsters ages 7-12. Any youth attending will receive a season pass to all Roadrunner home basketball games throughout the 2009-2010 season.

Immediately following the camp, the 'Runners will host the Houston Blaze in AC's final preseason tune-up before tipping off the regular season Monday at home against Tomball.

Then, after the game, the Roadrunners will hold an autograph session in which they'll hand out Halloween candy.

AC's men are coming off a strong weekend of scrimmages, beating Southwest Christian 74-71 and Temple 85-70.

Tipoff for tonight's scrimmage is at 7 p.m.
