Prop 10

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Election Day issue

Texans go to the polls Tuesday to vote on 11 proposed state constitutional amendments. Each day through Sunday, we'll take a closer look at one ballot proposition.

Prop. 10

Proposition 10 allows emergency services district board members to serve four years.

Supporters say: Provides stability and continuity on the boards, whose members now serve two-year terms.

Opponents say: Limits voters' oversight of board members and interferes with local control.
