Shoplifter gets away with boy's wind suit

A boy's wind suit was stolen from a business Friday in the 1800 block of West Frank Avenue after a shoplifter put it in the front of his pants and walked out of the store.

A handgun was stolen from a vehicle Friday night in the 1100 block of Jefferson Street.

Someone has been using a Hudson man's name and Social Security number to get accounts from a phone and cable TV company without permission. The suspect's address is located in the city of Lufkin.

The Lufkin Police Department made six arrests late Friday and early Saturday. Arrests and charges include: Antoinette Smith, 26, theft; Gay Nell Nelson, 53, theft; Myrtle Lanell Reggie, 23, warrant for theft by check, six Class C misdemeanors; Kasey Craig Durant, 23, driving while license invalid, no insurance, expired license plates; Luis Vasquez-Barrientos, 22, no driver's license, no insurance, failure to identify; and Michael Mallard, 36, third DWI.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office made nine arrests late Friday and early Saturday. Arrests and charges include: Amanda Kennedy, 28, DWI with a child; Samantha Hopkins, 24, failure to stop and render aid; Reginald Broadway, 31, bench warrants for injury to a child, endangering a child, burglary of a habitation, assault, three Class C misdemeanors; Alex M. Polidore, 31, revocation of probation for fraud; Rhonda Loomer, 49, theft by check; Cameron Turner Simpson, 31, theft by check; Morris Keith Alders, 48, judgment for DWI; and Chad Nathanel Crustner, 30, judgment for aggravated assault.

The Hudson Police Department arrested Lynnon Ray Lewis, 24, early Saturday and charged him with driving while intoxicated.

The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Edgar Serrato, 20, early Saturday and charged him with driving while intoxicated.

———

The Angelina County Jail housed 261 inmates as of 10 a.m. Saturday.
