Friends' disagreement over car results in police report

A car left at a friend's house for two months was reportedly towed after the car owner and her friend had a disagreement, a police report stated. During those two months, the car parked in the 400 block of Dogwood had been dented and scratched, and the windshield wipers and door locks were broken, the report stated.

A stereo, MP3 player and a wallet were stolen from a car broken into Wednesday night in the 1700 block of Frank, a police report stated.

———

Assault was reported by a man who said his wife kicked him in the behind Wednesday night on Walden Court, a police report stated.

———

A rock was thrown through the window of a car parked in the 100 block of Inwood Wednesday night, a police report stated.

———

Harassment was reported by a woman who said her ex-husband is leaving profanity-laced messages on her answering machine, a police report stated.

———

An 18-year-old female was reported to be having sex with a 16-year-old male, a police report stated. The mother of the boy said she did not wish to file any charges.

———

A glass door of a business in the 1400 block of Timberland Drive was shattered Wednesday night, a police report stated.

———

A riding lawn mower was stolen from the 1600 block of Atkinson Drive Tuesday night, a police report stated.

———

An air compressor was stolen from a house in the 300 block of Conn, a police report stated.

———

A bag filled with packages of meat was stolen from a store in the 1800 block of Frank Street Wednesday night, a police report stated.

———

Assault was reported by a man who said his brother-in-law hit him in the back of the head Wednesday in the 400 block of Lazy Oaks, a police report stated. The force of the blow caused the man to fall to the ground where he cut his elbows and knees, the report stated.

A lawn mower was reportedly borrowed by a woman's father-in-law and then sold by him, a police report stated.

———

A mailbox in the 100 block of Rosedale was reportedly backed over for the second time in 10 days, a police report stated.

———

The gas tank of a motorcycle was reportedly deliberately scratched while parked in the 500 block of McHale, a police report stated.

———

A rented storage room in the 2400 block of Frank was broken into and a variety of household items were stolen from it, a police report stated. It happened sometime in the past six months.

———

The title of a car purchased was reportedly not transferred to the new owner, a police report stated. The car was later found to be a salvage titled vehicle without a clear title.

———

A wallet was stolen from a car parked in the 2500 block of South John Redditt Drive Monday, a police report stated.

———

A set of weights was stolen from a carport in the 200 block of Hummingbird Tuesday night, a police report stated.

———

The Lufkin Police Department made eight arrests late Wednesday and early Thursday. Arrests and charges included: Juan Lerma, 18, no driver's license; Juan Rodriguez, 17, possession of drug paraphernalia; Jethro Henderson, 64, criminal trespass; Zarnoff Griffin, 47, criminal trespass and two Class C warrants; Ross Payne Byrd, 29, no driver's license and possession of drug paraphernalia; Cameron Thompson, 18, failure to pay fines for six traffic violations; Evangelina Gonzalez, 35, five Class C warrants; and Mark Smith, 18, theft of service and carrying a prohibited weapon.

The Diboll Police Department arrested Iram Chacon, 22, and charged him with DWI.

———

The Hudson Police Department arrested Amber Justice, 23, and charged her with no insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and no valid driver's license.

———

The Huntington Police Department arrested Charles A. Williamson, 26, and charged him with driving while license suspended.

———

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office made five arrests late Wednesday and early Thursday. Arrests and charges included: Venisha Hagens, 22, judgment for criminal trespass; Nacara L. Alexander, 22, criminal trespass and failure to appear for criminal trespass; Kevin Hayter, 29, DWI; Steven W. Rector, 38, judgment for third DWI; and Luis Caballero, 26, failure to pay fines for failure to pay child support.

The Angelina County Jail housed 249 inmates as of 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
