Bandana bandits caught breaking out car window

A man told Lufkin police that two men with bandanas over their faces broke out his car window early Thursday morning in the 1400 block of Bell Street. The men fled when a witness yelled at them, a police report stated.

A woman's nephew sold her car without telling her, according to a police report. The woman said her nephew took her car a month ago to put it in the shop for repairs. She just learned he didn't take it to the shop, but sold it instead, the report stated.

A patrol officer caught an 18-year-old woman having sex with a 16-year-old boy in a city park in the 1000 block of Clinton early Friday morning. The mother of the boy didn't want to file charges and the matter will be referred to detectives, a report stated.

A man and woman left a restaurant in the 4400 block of South Medford early Friday morning without paying for their meal, according to a police report.

Two people were seen damaging a wooden fence Thursday night in the 2400 block of Frank Avenue. They were identified, and charges are pending determination of who owns the fence.

Complainant reported that a window on his pickup was broken out sometime Thursday afternoon while parked at his workplace in the 1300 block of John Redditt Drive.

A man told police that his home in the 900 block of First Street was broken into Thursday and a laptop computer and two cell phones were stolen.

———

A woman told police that someone driving by in a silver car threw water on her Thursday in the 2500 block of Daniel McCall.

The Lufkin Police Department made nine arrests late Thursday and early Friday. Arrests and charges include: Victor Penson, 33, no driver's license/no insurance; Darione Alexander, 23, possession of marijuana/failure to identify; Ja'Clayton Morris, 18, possession of marijuana/no driver's license/no insurance; Mark Smith, 36, assault/family violence; Lerisa Mannin, 27, no seat belt/warrant; Peggy Miller, 46, burglary of coin operated machine/no driver's license/no insurance/possession of drug paraphernalia; David Maddux, 45, possession of a dangerous drug; Larry Harris, 50, criminal nonsupport/failure to identify/terroristic threat; and Brian Dewberry, 36, speeding/theft by check.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested Refugio Robles, 39, on a charge of criminal nonsupport; and Derrick York, 29, on a burglary of a habitation charge.

———

The Hudson Police Department arrested Maria Zavala, 18, on a charge of no driver's license/no insurance.

———

The Angelina County Jail housed 259 inmates as of 1 p.m. Friday.
