Congressman Louie Gohmert's office has generously provided Kurth Memorial Library with two copies of the Affordable Health Care for America Act, which has recently been introduced into the House of Representatives.
This bill, H. R. 3962, seeks "to provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending and for other purposes."
The copies have been placed on the counter between our Circulation Desk and the Reference Desk, and are available for public review within the library. Anyone wishing to review this act is welcome to come by and look it over.

Kurth Memorial Library's "Food for Fines" drive continues through Nov. 21. Patrons who owe late fees may bring in one can of food per dollar owed and we will waive those fines.
All cans must be within their usable date and in good condition. Fines can only be waived for late fees, not for billed, lost or damaged items.
Patrons who do not owe fines but who would like to donate items are certainly welcome to do so. No credit can be given, however, toward future fines. All items collected during this drive will be donated to the Salvation Army.
