A Lufkin woman accidentally drove into the front of Love's Truck Stop, damaging the building and scaring those inside the store Friday afternoon. Everlene Wortham pulled into a parking space in front of the building around 1:05 p.m. and believed she put her car in park just before the accident occurred, according to Lufkin Police Lt. Jim Porter.
"She bent over to pick something up when her dress caught the gear shift and knocked the car into drive," Porter said. "The car then made another entrance into Love's."

The car busted a wall on the left side of the building, causing an estimated $5,000 to $10,000 in damage, Porter said. No one was injured , but one store employee said the incident frightened her and others inside the business.
"It was so scary," the employee said. "A lady was about to get some oil from the back when the car hit. I turned around, saw what was happening and went to help her."
No tickets were issued in the accident as it occurred on private property. Wortham's black Mercury Cougar was also damaged.
