An Angelina County woman was arrested Thursday for assaulting her great-grandmother — not an isolated incident, according to an arrest report.
Eighteen-year-old Kristina Moak was taken into custody on a warrant for injury to the elderly and criminal trespass by Angelina County Sheriff's Office. On Oct. 26, Moak's great-grandmother, 76-year-old Georgia Kirwan, was dropping her off for work at McDonald's on Timberland Drive when the incident occurred. Moak was upset that Kirwan may not be able to pick her up from work later that day, the report stated. The two were arguing when Moak struck her great-grandmother across the face, brusing her eyelid and cutting her upper lip. When Kirwan tried to drive away, Moak hit her again.
When Kirwan was able to get away, she went straight to the Lufkin Police Department to file charges against her great-granddaughter. In February Moak was given six years of felony probation for assaulting Kirwan.
If convicted, Moak could spend up to 10 years in prison and pay a fine up to $10,000. She is being held in the Angelina County Jail without bond.
