Assigned parking dispute leads to fistfight

A man reported that he was punched in the face by a man Tuesday after an argument over a parking space at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Homer Street.

The complex has assigned parking, and the man who was punched parked in the other man's space because it was closer to his mother's apartment, according to a Lufkin Police spokesman. This was not the first time the men had exchanged words, but it was the first time it escalated to physical violence.

A woman's purse containing her debit card and paycheck was stolen from her car Tuesday evening in the 1500 block of West Frank Avenue.

A GPS unit was stolen from a car in the 400 block of Atkinson Drive, a police report stated.

A known suspect stole money entrusted to her by a group, according to a police report.

Two flat panel TVs were stolen from a home that was broken into in the 1000 block of Park Street.

A television was stolen from a home that was broken into in the 1300 block of East Lufkin Avenue, according to a police report.

A woman's car was broken into and a GPS unit was stolen in the 1200 block of South Chestnut Street.

Two bottles of wine were stolen from a store in the 400 block of North Timberland Tuesday, a police report stated.

A woman's car was keyed while parked at Angelina College Tuesday morning.

A woman reported that the father of her child threw her to the floor and kicked her twice Tuesday afternoon, according to a police report.

A woman reported that her apartment was broken into a ransacked, but nothing was stolen in the 500 block of Cain Street, a police report stated.

A woman was grabbed by the throat and shoved against a wall by a known suspect Tuesday morning, according to a police report.

A window air conditioning unit was stolen from a rental house Monday or Tuesday in the 1600 block of North First Street.

A woman reported that her registration and inspection stickers were stolen from her unlocked vehicle during the past few days in the 200 block of Ivy Terrace Street.

The Diboll Police Department arrested Rochelle Ann Cooley, 30 for theft late Tuesday.

The Lufkin Police Department made three arrests late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Arrests and charges included: Robert Jason Vinson, 28, no driver's license, running a stop sign and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle; Kevin Wade Lawrence, 30, retaliation and public intoxication and Micah Elliot King, 30, four Class C warrants.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office made five arrests late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Arrests and charges included: Charles Roy Euper, 45, arson and two Class C warrants; Manuel Camacho, 34, judgment for driving while intoxicated; Kermit Spurlock, 48, failure to identify and possession of marijuana; Craig Osaw, 20, possession of marijuana and four Class C warrants and Stanley Keith McMullen, 55, public intoxication.

The Texas Department of Public Safety made two arrests late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Arrest and charges included: Brandon Bortness, 32, for a capias pro fine warrant for possession of marijuana and Taj Sawon Black, 34, for driving while intoxicated Tuesday evening.

The Angelina County Jail housed 259 inmates as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.
