myPAC averaging 10 patients a day through first 2 weeks of class; administrators pleased with school-based health clinic

Last year, a nasty fall that left a sixth grader with no primary medical provider needing stitches would have caused that student to miss the rest of the school day while going to the health clinic or emergency room to wait in line. This year, that student can be stitched up and back in class on the same day, thanks to myPAC (my place to access care). The new, school-based health clinic has been in operation at Lufkin Middle School for two weeks now, and so far, officials say the clinic is serving its purpose.

I feel the need to have this address by some one who may work with LPD..I sit in the parking lot of a local store on Saturday night waithing on my daughter to get off work and on the corner of Denman and Timberland at a local stero shop were a group of young men and women..some very young and some looked but may not have been 18..But they were drinking(open containers),loud music, jumping in and out of different cars and driving up the street very fast..Now why I am asking the Chief of police to address this is because four of his officers cam to the intersection ther and not one of them went to see what was going on over there and I know that they had to have seen this becaue it was very loud and plus it happens every weekend….there was an older man in a black cowboy hat and dark shirt and jeans that went into the store across the street and bought beer for them and when he made it back and got it out of his dodge truck an officer was right hand lane but never did he pull over there. Now I am cocerned about these children and the parents they have because they could be killed or kill driving drunk,so do not take this wrong…but police here look the other way when it comes to color because all these kids were white and if it would have been a group of black kids on the north side they would have swept in there and searched each car for beer and drugs and all….even if they were on the church parking lot. They need to ( the police )taught about racial profiling and how all people should be treated equally and with the same respect.THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN HOW THE POLICE TREAT PEOPLE JUST BY SKIN COLOR IN LUFKIN…STILL..AND BY THE WAY WHERE ARE THE BLACK OFFICERS DO WE NOT HAVE ANY..AND THE ONCE WE HAVE TREAT THEIR OWN EVEN WORST……..
