Minimum wage workers get raise: Increase boosts paychecks, spirits of employees, but some fear it won’t compensate for rising prices
Brittney Havard, like many Americans, has bills to pay. Standing behind a counter at Exxon Polk’s Pick-it-up, the 19-year-old swipes cards and hands change back to customers, working full-time to pay her bills. EDITORIAL: Tough Ticket: Lufkin Panthers season ticket plan a good idea, but questions remain
It’s never too early to start talking about Lufkin Panther football, but the topic of the moment — with one month before the high school season starts — is, “Where are we going to sit?”
Most longtime, diehard Pack fans already have season tickets to the Panthers’ home games, and have for years. Many others — including, unfortunately, parents of some of the hundreds of students who are performing on the field or in the stands — have not been able to secure those golden (and purple) tickets.
