Bridge Project Back On

The bridge project at the Angelina and Neches River Railroad bridge (Kelty’s railroad overpass) is back on for Friday, June 27. Beginning Friday at 6 p.m. Lufkin Police officers will be on hand to redirect traffic. All traffic will be detoured from the northbound lanes of North Loop 287/SH 103 and moved to the southbound lanes.

Anyone driving at this area from Friday evening through Saturday morning should expect delays. TxDOT is asking motorists to try to take other routes.

The project, being done by Ajax Construction, involves raising and painting the bridge along with replacing a damaged beam on the northside of the bridge.Ajax Construction expects it to take about two months.
