October the second warmest on record
Combined global land and sea temperatures in October were the second warmest on record, government researchers said today.
The October average was 58.23 degrees Fahrenheit, 1.13 degrees above the 20th century mean of 57.1 degrees, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. said.
The warmest October for combined land and sea temps was 2003, said center meteorologist Richard Heim.
What’s that mean for hurricanes? Warmer water gives them more fuel, though warming trends can also increase the wind shear that tends to break up storms, models suggest. The 2008 hurricane season became the first to include major hurricanes in five separate months.
There are no tropical cyclone threats currently being tracked by the National Hurricane Center.

So if it was WARMER in Oct. 2003 than it was in Oct. 2008, than we are cooling, NOT warming.

Is someone dreaming here??? South FLorida, a week ago experienced record cold temps and is going thru more cold weather right now and even colder tomorrow morning. We never get cold fronts this cold, this early in the year. If we do they are called “cool fronts”, not cold fronts. I’ve been down here since 1996 and have not seen cold weather like this until at least December and this many days in a row of cold weather….it’s NOT warm right now down here and i’m 110% sure it’s colder up north as well as, i’m sure it’s not suppose to be that cold this time of year either….be prepared florida…..we may have more cold days ahead of us, esp if this cold weather started this early in the season.

This article is a total fabrication. The scientist who compiled the data simply rolled over the temps from Siberia from Sept. to the Oct. temps. instead of entering new temps.
Had the reporter read anything at all in the current Science periodicals he would have realized this was really big scandal. True to their leftist philosophy the Post ignored truth and just played along, wonderful, simply wonderful.

The data has allready been proven to be false and misleading by scientists who reviewed the temps recorded and discovered that the temps recorded were carried over from as far as 2 months previous. The avg. temps across the U.S. are below avg. this year for 50% of the country. GLOBALONEY WARMING!!

According to a U.S. Geologist studying Alaskan galciers, they grew last year due to cold temps and record snowfall which never fully melted this summer. Antarctica had the coldest winter in 100 years. Palm Beach Compost once again proves it’s rating as the liberal and bogus newspaper in the country!!

The scientist involved, James Hanson, is considered the guru of global warming.
In this case, he rolld over the Siberian numbers from September and, when confronted with his error/fraud, claimed there were Arctic “hot spots”. Then it was pointed out that there has been MORE Arctic ice this year.
When the Post carries information to “prove Global Warming” that has already been fully debunked,it makes it far more difficult to believe them on the entire topic.
